"The Sky's Gone Out" 的首批副本以特價雙專輯形式發行，內含一張額外的現場專輯："Press The Eject And Give Me The Tape"。

最初以收縮膜包裝，附有封面貼紙和圖文內套。封面是厚實的亮面層壓封套，書脊上以手寫字體印有「Beggars Banquet」。封底為純黑色，沒有任何刻印。錄音室專輯的目錄號為 BEGA 42，現場專輯的目錄號為 BEGA 38。

首批副本售罄後，[r=390514 以單張專輯形式發行，採用標準封套，書脊上以普通字體印有「Beggars Banquet」。另一方面，[r=379706 在幾個月後作為獨立發行重新發行。

["The Sky's Gone Out"：
錄製於 Rockfield Studios，但 "Swing The Heartache" 錄製於 Wellingborough 的 Beck Studios，"Third Uncle" 錄製於倫敦 Maida Vale 的 BBC Studios，並經 [l3380 安排發行。

["Press The Eject And Give Me The Tape"：
C1、C2、C5、D4 於 82 年 2 月 24 日在倫敦 The Old Vic 現場錄製。
C3、D1 至 D3、D5、D6 於 81 年 10 月 31 日在利物浦 Royal Court Theatre 現場錄製。
C4 於 81 年 11 月 9 日在倫敦 Hammersmith Palais 現場錄製。
