Bassolino - Popoli Del Mare

Popoli Del Mare connects Dario Bassolino’s Neapolitan background with musicians and sounds from across the Mediterranean. The title track brings Charif Megarbane’s rhythmic influence together with Bassolino’s Italian harmonies, while Baid Alik features Tunisian singer Marzouk Mejri, whose delivery moves between melody and a spoken rhythmic approach. Produced by Bassolino, Megarbane and Paolo Petrella, the release draws on jazz, funk and disco, with two songs conceived around the musical links between Naples, Tunis and Beirut. Issued by Jakarta Records, this two-track single presents both pieces on 7-inch vinyl.
