About this release
Bisou returns to G.A.M.M. with a pairing of Caribbean disco and Afro-funk reworks. Do It To Disco starts from a steel-band funk recording, bringing the percussion and metallic melodies into a more forceful disco arrangement. Not That Simple takes the reverse in a grittier direction, combining a straight four-to-the-floor rhythm with chanting vocals. The two tracks contrast the brightness of the steel-band sound with a heavier vocal groove, continuing the French producer’s interest in reshaping funk and disco material for club play.
