About this release
Fruko Y Sus Tesos and The Latin Brothers share this Panorama seven-inch, with Piper Pimienta Díaz singing on both sides. A La Memoria Del Muerto sets sharp horns over a driving rhythm section, giving the first side a direct, percussive salsa feel. Buscándote takes a slower and more melodic route on the reverse, keeping the vocal prominent within its dance rhythm. The pairing draws together two strands of Colombian salsa, with the contrast in pace letting Díaz's phrasing take a different shape on each recording.
