About this release
Kraak & Smaak revisit Velvet Seas through seven remixes that shift the album’s soul and disco arrangements towards different club settings. Yuksek and Diogo Strausz open the selection, while Ray Mang gives the title track’s Izo FitzRoy vocal a longer, percussion-led setting. Anoraak reworks Heat with Butter Bath, followed by Harvey Sutherland’s tighter, rhythm-focused version of Real Love with Kainalu. Sound Support takes Travel Light towards early house and Italo-influenced electronics, and Stirmouth gives Heat a slower, swung treatment. The collection retains the original album’s guests while changing the rhythmic frame around their performances.
