About this release
Smerz’s Big City Life brings Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina Stoltenberg’s voices together with drum programming, strings and spare piano figures. The Norwegian duo’s second album moves between clipped electronic rhythms and more sweeping arrangements, from the compact, rap-like delivery of Roll The Dice and Feisty to the strings around You Got Time And I Got Money. Written, performed and produced by the pair, it follows Believer with thirteen songs that mix intimate vocal exchanges and synthetic textures. Emil Thomsen shares the mixing credit with Smerz and mastered the album, released through Escho.
