About this release
Daybreak is Sven Wunder’s fifth full-length album, taking a maritime journey from the first light of morning through the changing hours of the day. Thirteen instrumental compositions bring together flute, percussion, brass and strings, supported by a firm rhythm section. Its pop-jazz arrangements develop the melodic and orchestral approach of Wunder’s earlier records, with titles such as Misty Shore, Leeward and Turning Tides tracing the album’s coastal setting. From Setting Off to Liquid Mountains, the sequence follows shifts in light and atmosphere. This Piano Piano LP presents the complete album on vinyl.
