About this release
Brendan McCarthy's 1994 Full Moon EP returns under his Aquatherium name on False 9. The title track combines progressive house and trance with bright, repeating synth motifs, bubbling electronics and spacious ambient-techno textures. Luci In Deep Hypnosis takes a heavier route on the reverse, using sustained bass, bleeps and a darker rhythmic framework. The two extended pieces reflect the crossover between house, trance and techno that marked mid-1990s club music, with the release also finding an audience in San Francisco's free-party scene. This reissue presents the original two-track programme across the two sides of a twelve-inch.
