About this release
DiscoGram's third release brings together four cuts with a strong Afro-disco emphasis. Africa Tribal layers horns and vocals over hand percussion and claps, while Chillin' Out takes a more relaxed route through a low-slung groove and sunny vocal phrases. Coconut raises the pace with strings and stomping drums before Hi Tension closes on heavier disco rhythms and double claps. The arrangements give each side a different balance of melody and percussion, moving from the loose first-side grooves towards a firmer dancefloor pulse on the reverse.
