About this release
Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper’s Director’s Cut partnership revisited the Def Mix sound through original productions and remixes, sharing production credits from 2011 onwards. Volume Two gathers work with Jamie Principle, Sybil, Inaya Day and B. Slade alongside remixes of Lou Rawls, Soulful Session and Hardsoul. DJ Meme’s Mix Of Epic Proportions brings another perspective to You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), while Spencer Parker and Dan Beaumont’s The Look closes the collection. Released in collaboration with the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, the set traces the partnership’s approach to vocal-led house across originals, reinterpretations and extended club arrangements.
