About this release
Jinjé and A Brief Utopia explore live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synthesizers on We Invisible, the first album from Cult Measures. The label brings together Earthly Measures and Dreems, while the music draws on Jinjé’s interest in Afrobeat, highlife and folk recordings from the 1960s and 1970s. Lee J Malcolm, also a founding member of Vessels, developed the project with musicians Danny Templeman and Nathan Moseley. Across eight tracks, the album connects jazz-influenced interplay with electronic production, translating the group’s percussion-led approach into arrangements conceived for both home listening and live club and festival performances.
