About this release
UK producer Shak Jackson brings piano-led house and a stripped, technical edge to Hooj. Routes draws on rolling basslines, pared-back percussion and hypnotic grooves, with the title track occupying the first side of the record. Frisson and Feelings complete the reverse, extending the EP's focus on direct rhythms and older house foundations. The three-track release keeps the emphasis on bass, piano and rhythmic movement.
