About this release
SOPHIE’s self-titled second album brings together sixteen tracks developed with a close circle of collaborators. Benny Long, her studio manager and longtime collaborator, completed the record after her death, following the concept and production they had shaped together over several years. Kim Petras and BC Kingdom appear on ‘Reason Why’, with further contributions from Nina Kraviz, Juliana Huxtable, LIZ, Evita Manji and others. Moving between abstract electronic textures, club rhythms and direct pop songwriting, the album carries the contrasts that defined her work. This Transgressive and Future Classic edition presents the full programme on black double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.
