About this release
Boston selector K.C., aka K Civ, opens Love On Vinyl's Soul Tickler Essentials series with ten tracks spanning deep and soulful house. Ralf GUM and Omar begin with Love Core, while DJ Kemit, Charles Dockins and Don Kamares bring vocal performances, jazz-minded keys and percussion-led arrangements into the programme. Moodymann's remix of Ralf GUM and Hugh Masekela's With Her Hand adds a deeper, dustier texture. Trinidadian Deep and Aaron K Gray with Conway Kasey complete the set, connecting the compilation's vocal warmth with more extended grooves. The selections are spread across four sides.
