About this release
Força Bruta finds Jorge Ben working a warm, largely acoustic seam of samba and soul. Originally released in 1970, the album pairs his rhythmic guitar and relaxed vocal phrasing with the supple percussion of Trio Mocotó, creating an intimate sound with plenty of movement beneath the surface.
Óba, Lá Vem Ela, Charles Jr. and O Telefone Tocou Novamente show how naturally Ben could turn repeating guitar figures into memorable songs. This Opinião vinyl LP reissue presents all ten tracks, a distinctive chapter in his fusion of Brazilian popular music and soul.
