About this release
S-Tone Inc. and Toco celebrate the sound of 1970s Brazilian soul and funk on Dona Diva / Funky Gafieira. Italian producer Stefano Tirone’s basslines and guitar work meet the Brazilian singer’s melodies across two tracks for Schema Records.
‘Dona Diva’ leads the seven-inch, backed by the tropical, cinematic groove of ‘Funky Gafieira’. Priscila Ribas adds vocals and Gianluca Petrella contributes trombone, bringing live detail to the duo’s warm arrangements.
