About this release
20 Palavras Ao Redor Do Sol is the 1979 debut by Brazilian singer and songwriter Cátia de França. Produced by Zé Ramalho, the album draws northeastern Brazilian traditions into a sound that also embraces MPB and psychedelic folk. Her expressive voice holds together a richly varied set, with songs such as 'O Bonde', 'Kukukaya (Jogo da Asa da Bruxa)' and 'Porto de Cabedelo' revealing different sides of her writing.
This twelve-track album remains a distinctive introduction to Cátia's work, pairing regional rhythms with adventurous arrangements. Music On Vinyl presents this reissue as a limited edition on 180g translucent red vinyl, complete with an insert.
