About this release
Jorge Ben and Gilberto Gil let their songs unfold at length on Ogum Xangô, the collaborative album recorded in 1975. Their voices and acoustic guitars are joined by bass and percussion, creating an open, conversational sound rooted in Brazilian rhythm.
Extended versions of Taj Mahal and Filhos De Gandhi sit alongside Meu Glorioso São Cristóvão, Nega and Jurubeba. The loose arrangements give the musicians space to repeat, respond and change direction. This Transoceanica edition is presented across two vinyl records in a gatefold sleeve with an insert.
Format: Gatefold 2LP with insert
