About this release
Racional Vol. 1 captures Tim Maia's rich voice and tightly locked grooves during his involvement with Brazil's Rational Culture movement. Brass, bass and insistent rhythms drive a set that brings spiritual conviction into deep funk and soul.
From Imunização Racional (Que Beleza) to Rational Culture, the music balances exuberant playing with Maia's unmistakable vocal presence.
