About this release
Elis Regina's expressive singing meets Antonio Carlos Jobim's songwriting on Elis & Tom, recorded in 1974. The conversational Águas De Março sets the tone, with the two voices trading phrases over an understated bossa nova rhythm. Corcovado, Triste and Retrato Em Branco E Preto leave space for subtle phrasing and warm accompaniment. Recorded largely at MGM Studios in Los Angeles, the album grew from Regina's wish to devote a full record to Jobim's songs. César Camargo Mariano's arrangements help frame that partnership across fourteen songs. This Klimt reissue presents the album on orange vinyl.
