About this release
Wet is the fifth Black Meteoric Star album from Gavilán Rayna Russom, released on Dark Entries. The project brings her long involvement in electronic music into conversation with queer club culture, drag and the community she has found in leather and S/M spaces.
Across the seven tracks on this vinyl edition, stripped-back electro and raw machine rhythms provide the setting for a record with a strong sense of purpose. From "5am Open Air Sunrise" to "Subwoofer Speaker Freaker", featuring Scotia, Wet explores the shared history of underground dance music and queer self-expression. A direct, personal album from an artist whose work extends well beyond the dancefloor.
