About this release
K Wata’s debut album Give U Space unfolds through deep bass, dub effects and finely detailed percussion. Released on Short Span, the eight-track double LP balances soundsystem weight with a spacious, exploratory approach, allowing its rhythms to develop slowly rather than rushing towards a payoff.
Some of the material began as live pieces for Sustain Release 2025 before being refined into the album with mixing work by K Wata and Chris Botta. That live origin comes through in the record’s gradual shifts of momentum, with Whisper Dub and There Will Be Love providing its strongest surges of energy. The quieter passages are just as absorbing, making this a record to follow from Looking Glass through to As I’ve Always Said.
