DJ Harrison - ElectroSoul

DJ Harrison, aka Devonne Harris, started working on his new album ElectroSoul as soon as he returned home from an unexpected stay at the hospital. He found himself hungrier than ever for collaboration, and called upon musicians from his community and beyond to help create his most ambitious album to date. Guests across the album include Pink Siifu, Yazmin Lacey, Fly Anakin, Angélica Garcia, Miguel-Atwood Ferguson, Kiefer and many more.

While some songs on ElectroSoul are uplifting, others are mellow and heavy – mirroring the ups and downs of healing. The album travels slickly through lo-fi hiphop to indie rock via jazz, funk and R&B, unearthing the warmth and soul at the heart of each style. For his new track “Stay Ready”, DJ Harrison reached out to Yaya Bey, who he knew from earlier collaborations. Yaya wanted the track to be a 'self check in' and 'a reminder to have faith in the path you chose'.
