Floating Points - Elaenia (10th Anniversary Edition)

Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points released Elaenia in 2015, and now a decade later it comes renewed, good-as-new, through reissuing label Pluto. The album grew from a turning point when a Studer A80 master recorder arrived at Shepherd's door, prompting him to build the studio that would plane his later compositions.

Over five years, he balanced global DJing and a PhD in neuroscience while crafting an eight-track record merging electronic, jazz, classical, soul and Brazilian influences. The anniversary edition here includes a bonus track - and in the limited Dinked edition, seven postcards with 'harmonograph' drawings - graphs drawn by a pendulum, as seen on the front cover.
