About this release
Thee Sacred Souls return with twelve original songs on Got A Story To Tell, recorded and produced by Gabriel Roth at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, California. Written while the San Diego group toured behind its debut, the album develops their sweet soul sound with strings, horns, congas, piano and textured guitar. ‘Lucid Girl’ opens with a firm drum-and-bass foundation, while ‘Waiting On The Right Time’ introduces a slower psychedelic shade. ‘On My Mind’ brings a fuller orchestral arrangement, and ‘One and the Same’ centres on empathy. Josh Lane’s vocals carry the changing moods across this standard black-vinyl Daptone LP.
