About this release
Steven Julien introduces his 808 PRINCE alias with a self-titled album on Apron Records. Ten tracks centre raw drum programming, analogue textures and heavy bass, moving between house, electro, acid and more exploratory rhythmic passages.
James Massiah, J. Caesar, Touch Sensitive, Jarren and KIAH join Julien across the record. From AFTERS and LOST to the guest-led cuts on side B, the album keeps its focus on groove, drum-machine character and movement.
