About this release
BenArt Ensemble's Barsoom brings an eight-piece group together around bassist Ben Artuphel and saxophonist Baptiste Herbin. Flute, Rhodes, guitar and percussion give the arrangements a broad palette, drawing on jazz-funk, Afro rhythms and samba.
Recorded in Paris, the album balances ensemble interplay with melodic writing across seven vinyl tracks, from Afrobate through the title piece to Samba Sem Saida. Released by BenArt Records.
