About this release
Captain Yossarian presents Fela Kuti In Dub on Agogo Records, a 12" vinyl set that reimagines four Fela Kuti songs through the lens of Jamaican discomix and dub.
The record moves from instrumental cover versions into spacious dub treatments, using echo, reverb, filtering and analogue effects to honour both Nigerian and Jamaican traditions. Mixed live and shaped with soundsystem detail, it turns Fela's political fire into heavyweight, atmospheric dub pressure.
