About this release
Emapea's debut album for Cold Busted brings together instrumental hip hop, acid jazz and psychedelic trip hop in a set that rewards listening from start to finish. The Polish producer had already appeared on the label's IWYMI and Bust Free compilations; Seeds, Roots & Fruits gives his approach room to stretch across a full album. Its mix of beats and jazz influences sits comfortably alongside the adventurous sounds associated with Mo'Wax.
This reissue presents the album on 180g transparent dark green vinyl, with full-colour labels and a printed insert. From opener 'Laka' through 'Jazzy', 'Smooth Walk' and closing cut 'Baby Mind', it's a natural choice for listeners drawn to instrumental beats and the meeting point between hip hop and jazz.
