About this release
Venetian bassist and producer Eric Demuro makes his solo LP debut with Simulacra on Bastard Jazz Recordings. Six compositions bring together looping basslines, hand percussion, Fender Rhodes and vintage synthesisers, with space left around each instrumental part.
Developed between New York and Berlin, the album moves through jazz-funk, ambient textures, psychedelic library music and Brazilian rhythmic influences. Its unhurried arrangements reflect Demuro’s work as both an instrumentalist and a producer, focusing on changes in tone and movement.
