About this release
Tech Rico EP finds Erik Rico exploring techno-driven production while keeping the musical detail of his house, funk and broken beat work. Tokyo By Train combines driving rhythms with atmospheric textures, followed by the Fela Kuti-inspired pulse of Afro Beatdown (Let's Go!). Summer In Chi Town turns towards Chicago house, with warm synths and skippy drums, before Inkswel recasts it with vocals from Erin Buku and Marley Love. Madrid Or Manhattan closes on a hypnotic groove and vocoder-led vocals. Released by Cosmocities Records, the EP brings several strands of Rico's sound together across five tracks.
