Mere Mortals is Floating Points' first full-length ballet score, recorded with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra for Deutsche Grammophon. Sam Shepherd brings his electronic sensibility into an orchestral setting, moving between lyrical strings, forceful brass and pulsing percussion across a fourteen-movement work.

Created for a ballet choreographed by Aszure Barton, the score reimagines the story of Pandora. Hope and Her Gift reveal its melodic tenderness, while Rage Of The Gods and Opening Of The Jar explore more unsettled territory. This double vinyl edition presents the music across three sides, with an etched fourth side and booklet.
