About this release
Florence Welch has always been known for emotional response - whether that's her own reaction to whatever life moment or challenge she's writing songs about, or eliciting something from the audience, summoning their innermost feelings and thoughts by way of hitting nail on head with lyrics and atmosphere. Everybody Scream is no different. In almost every way, this latest doesn't veer from the familiar musical universe of Florence & The Machine. But it may trump many predecessors because of how personal things get. Since we last had an album, the icon at the front has experienced the kind of painful loss that can disrupt our connections to others and also ourselves - subject matter which is powerfully channelled here. 100% guaranteed to hit avid fans in all the right places, making it six-for-six.
