Freddie McGregor - Lovers Rock Showcase Jamaica Style

Freddie McGregor's 1981 Showcase album, known in the UK as Lovers Rock Showcase Jamaica Style, brings romantic soul singing together with roots reggae and dub. Producer Winston 'Niney' Holness builds on his earlier work with McGregor, giving the vocalist room to move between love songs and spiritual themes.

The six-track set includes The Overseer, Chant It Down and Sitting In The Park, pairing McGregor's melodic delivery with Niney's production.
