About this release
Time Machine surveys five decades of Frédéric Rabold’s music, collecting seventeen recordings made between 1968 and 2018. The selection follows the trumpeter through work with the Frédéric Rabold Crew and his Inspiration Orchestra, drawing together different scales of ensemble and approaches to modern jazz. Rabold formed the Crew in 1968 and later established the orchestra in the mid-1970s; both contribute to this retrospective. Issued by Tramp Records to mark his eightieth birthday, the double LP includes ‘Noon In Tunisia’, ‘Time Machine I’ and ‘Berlin’. Its gatefold sleeve contains detailed notes in English and German alongside previously unpublished photographs.
