Gayance - roaming

Gayance follows her Polaris-shortlisted debut Mascarade with roaming, a seven-track album shaped by years of travel and collaboration. Released by Tru Thoughts, it brings together Haitian roots, London’s broken-beat influence, Brazilian rhythms and the energy of 1990s house, with more intimate passages of boogie and French lyricism.

Judith Little D. joins the opening ‘Better For My Heart’, while Seb Hall, Gaspar Muniz and funkywhat contribute to the album’s collaborative sound. The B-side brings Waahli and Jarreau Vandal into ‘Podjab’, Magi Merlin and funkywhat into ‘hellooooo????’, and NARCY and De.Ville into ‘Agua’. Personal stories and a shared sense of movement give roaming its character, connecting Gayance’s experiences across cities through rhythm and song.
