About this release
James Curd and Karizma collaborate for the first time on I Know You, bringing Curd’s Chicago background together with the Baltimore producer’s approach to house. The original uses looping keys, vocal phrases, brass accents and a rolling bassline, with three remixes exploring different parts of the arrangement. Rocco Rodamaal takes a more spacious route, Ralph Session draws on late-1990s filtered disco, and Inkswel adds a jazz-inflected interpretation. Released on Curd’s Pronto label, the record presents four distinct versions of the same collaboration, from the original production through the three remix approaches on the two sides.
