José Carlos Schwarz & Le Cobiana Djazz - Lua Ki Di Nos

José Carlos Schwarz and Le Cobiana Djazz helped give modern Guinea-Bissau a musical voice, drawing on gumbé rhythms and singing in Guinean Kriol. Lua Ki Di Nos brings that music to vinyl through Hot Mule, with songs rooted in a period of political upheaval and a strong sense of shared cultural identity.

Made in close collaboration with the Schwarz family, this official reissue is remastered and pressed on heavyweight vinyl, housed in a tip-on sleeve. Its eleven tracks include ‘Indicativo’, ‘Na Kolonia’ and ‘Amigos Cabali’. The recordings offer an introduction to Schwarz’s songwriting and a group whose influence reached well beyond its original audience.
