About this release
Magic, Alive! follows three children confronting the loss of their best friend and imagining how their connection might continue. McKinley Dixon builds that story through rap, horns and live instrumental contributions, working with sounds from producers Sam Yamaha and Koff. The music moves between grief, friendship and the possibility of magic in ordinary life, with several songs linked into a flowing sequence. Watch My Hands opens the record, followed by Sugar Water and Crooked Stick, while All The Loved Ones and the title track shape the second side. This City Slang edition presents the eleven-track album on orange vinyl.
