Mr Thelonious digs into the bargain bins for six short edits on Galaxy Sound Co’s 1$ Bin Breaks 2# DJ Edits. This 7-inch draws together funk, jazz and soul breaks, giving overlooked records a fresh use in the DJ bag. ‘Word Games’ pairs a light drum break with flute and keys, while ‘Time’ brings double bass to the foreground and ‘Bells Open Drum’ puts the drums front and centre.

The second side shifts towards the loose hip-hop feel of ‘Milkyway (Instrumental)’, followed by the vocal-led ‘Alley’ and the rougher party groove of ‘Big Chief’. A concise selection of breaks and edits, with three cuts on each side and plenty of variety across its short running time.
