About this release
Noots builds Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad around ambient texture, deep house rhythm and traces of jungle. Field recordings from the Moscow metro station that gives the release its name and an impromptu session in a friend's garage bring everyday environments into the music. Sudden Shift places melodic synth detail over its groove, while Flowing Harmony works with softer, more diffuse pads. This vinyl selection adds an Edmondson remix of Kovrov-1 and Nookie's drum and bass version of Mother Of Pearl Clouds. The sequence connects the original material's sense of space with two distinct rhythmic interpretations, keeping the environmental recordings within the music's wider atmosphere.
