About this release
O’Flynn returns to a sample-led approach on Kairos, his third studio album for Panthus. Field recordings, found sounds and discoveries from record digging guide compositions that move between quieter passages, intricate percussion and club rhythms. The album’s title draws on the Greek idea of an opportune moment, reflecting a project developed over several years of writing, travel and collaboration. Swordman Kitala contributes to Sekete, while Fara, Ashiko and Can I Hold You sit within the wider fifteen-track sequence. The double-vinyl edition brings these shorter sketches and fuller productions together, connecting O’Flynn’s melodic arrangements with his interest in rhythm and texture.
