About this release
Omasta follows Jazz Report From The Hood with Hits Different, a second album on Astigmatic Records. The group develops its meeting of contemporary jazz, hip-hop rhythms and jazz-funk into an eleven-track record with a more cinematic, narrative approach.
The sequence runs from ‘Jane Doe’ and ‘Morrow’ through ‘OG-Shock’, ‘Honda Del Sol’ and ‘Beginner’s Luck’, ending with ‘Missed Call’. Track titles suggest scenes rather than spelling out a story, leaving the listener space to connect the album’s shifting moods. This vinyl LP edition includes a poster.
