About this release
Or Kantor interprets Masaru Imada’s Nowin for Anova Music, paying tribute to the Japanese jazz composer through his own melodic approach. The performance sits within Kantor’s wider interest in dreamlike instrumental music, where surf and garage influences meet Mediterranean colours and mood-music textures. Rather than pairing the cover with another interpretation, the reverse introduces The One, an original composition written especially for this release and inspired by Nowin. The single places the two pieces in dialogue, connecting Kantor’s own writing with the musical character that drew him to Imada’s composition.
