About this release
Orchestra Mambo International’s debut album presents eight original compositions rooted in mambo, salsa and Afro-Cuban jazz. Founded in 2022 by DJ Lubi and trombonist Jonny Enright, the UK-based thirteen-piece orchestra brings together musicians from across Latin America, Spain and Britain.
Enright leads the writing, with contributions from vocalist Carlos ‘Pachanga’ Peña and timbalero Jimmy Le Messurier. Chip Wickham guests on Flauta Pa’ Ti, while Claritzel Miyares and violinist Yrving Yeras appear on Rumba, Ron Y Rico Son. Rich horn arrangements and percussion carry the album through pachanga, son montuno and bomba.
