About this release
Phoebe Bridgers’ debut album places sharply observed songwriting inside a quiet, spacious mix of folk and indie rock. Produced with Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska, Stranger In The Alps moves from the hazy guitar and strings of Smoke Signals to the more immediate pull of Motion Sickness, without losing the intimacy of Bridgers’ voice.
Funeral and Scott Street show her gift for finding emotional weight in everyday detail. Conor Oberst joins her on Would You Rather, and the closing stretch includes her reading of You Missed My Heart before a brief Smoke Signals reprise. This Dead Oceans edition presents the eleven-track album on black vinyl LP with an insert and download code.
