Protomartyr - Hotel Usona

Hotel Usona is Protomartyr's seventh studio album, recorded with Dave Fridmann at Tarbox Road Studios in western New York. The Detroit band's tense post-punk sound frames Joe Casey's writing, with Greg Ahee's guitar, Scott Davidson's bass and Alex Leonard's drums supporting songs that move between sharp detail and wider unease.

The album uses an ageing hotel as its central image, opening with 'The Old Hotel' and closing with 'Checking Out'. Across nine tracks, including 'Sounds We Cannot Hear', 'Converts' and 'Feed The Sewer', that setting provides a thread through the record. This Domino edition is pressed on indie exclusive gold vinyl and includes a download code.
