Severin Black - Brandy EP

Severin Black brings flute loops, heavy low end and unsettled electronics to Brandy EP, a three-track dub and bass 12-inch on Parallel Line. The Welsh-born, Berlin-based musician has a knack for finding the strange edges of dub, and the eerie flute figure on Brandy makes a strong opening.

Yarmouth heads into darker stepper territory, while Cautious (Dub) takes over the B-side with a nine-and-a-half-minute live take. Slow-moving and spacious, it gives the record room to stretch out.
