About this release
Sleep D and Mosam Howieson move between forceful techno and more spacious, hypnotic arrangements on Syphon Filter. The title track began the collaboration more than five years before the EP’s release, using clanging industrial percussion and a direct beat as its core. Inertia and Mirror Pool open out into a more emotive, psychedelic sound, giving the record a change of pace and texture. Konduku closes with a remix of Mirror Pool, reducing the arrangement to a fluid, stripped-back interpretation. Released on Sleep D’s Butter Sessions label, the four tracks connect rhythmic weight with deeper electronic atmosphere.
