About this release
Tehran-born producer Sohrab brings Persian vocals and Middle Eastern melodic influences into deep techno on Santouri, a three-track twelve-inch for Shahr Farang.
Santouri (Sange Saboor) layers strings and wiry electronics over a throbbing rhythm, with an instrumental version alongside it. On the reverse, Rise turns towards jacking analogue drums, restless bass and swung percussion.
